क्या है कालसर्प योग

राहु और केतु

 मूलत: राहु-केतु दोनों ही आध्यात्मिक ग्रह हैं। अत: इन ग्रहों के विशेष अध्ययन की नितांत आवश्यकता है। वास्तव में राहु-केतु ग्रहों का हमारे कार्मिक फल से बहुत गहरा संबंध है। ये ग्रह जीवन के सूक्ष्म बिन्दुओं के ज्यादा निकट हैं। इनका सीधा संबंधा हमारी चेतना से है। (ये दोनों ग्रह अपना प्रभाव देने में अचूक हैं।

 वैज्ञानिक विचार

राहु-केतु ग्रहों को छाया ग्रह कहा जाता है, क्योंकि आकाश में ये दोनों ग्रह बिन्दुओं के रूप में दृष्टिगोचर होते हैं। जहां सूर्य और चन्द्र पथ एक-दूसरे से मिलते हैं। उस बिन्दु विशेष को राहु-केतु छयाग्रह कहा गया है।

 प्रभाव

मुख्यत: इन छाया ग्रहों से जातक के आंतरिक स्वभाव का पता चलता है। जिसके अनुसार जातक अपने जीवन को गतिमान कर सकता है। इन ग्रहों की स्पष्ट व्याख्या से व्यक्ति अपने जीवन में आने वाली कठिनाइयों का पूर्वानुमान लगाकर उनसे अपनी सुरक्षा कर सकता है। किन्तु इन छाया ग्रहों के बारे में एक बात सत्य है कि इन ग्रहों द्वारा जीवन में जो भी अनिष्टकारी घटनायें होती है। वे जातक को आध्यात्म की ओर अग्रसर करती है। केतु एक धवजा भी है। किन्तु ध्वजा का अर्थ पताका या झंडा नही है। केतु को ध्वजा कहने का अर्थ है कि केतु परमात्मा की शक्ति का मूर्त रूप है। जिसके प्रभाव और चेतना से मनुष्य इस सृष्टि में व्याप्त उस सर्वशक्तिमान, सर्वव्यापी शक्ति का अनुभव कर सकता है।

राहु और केतु से मुख्यत 12 प्रकार के कालसर्प योग बनते है

1. अन्नत कालसर्प योग

राहु जब लग्न में हो और केतु सप्तम भाव में इस बीच सारे ग्रह स्थित हो तो हो तो अन्नत नामक कालसर्प योग बनता है और इस कालसर्प योग के प्रभाव से  जातक धनवान, बलवान, बुद्विमान आध्यात्मवेता होता है साथ-साथ बहुत ही दृढ़़ निश्चयी और साहसी होगा। हां इतना जरुर मैंने देखा है कि उसकी पत्नी का स्वास्थ्य हमेशा प्रतिकूल रहता है। परन्तु वे अपने पुरुषार्थ से अच्छी सफलता पाते हैं।

उपाय

• सूर्योदय के बाद तांबे के पात्र में गेहूं, गुड़, भर कर बहते जल में प्रवाह करें। संतान कष्ट हो तो काला और सफेद कम्बल गरीब को दान करें।
• प्रतिदिन एक माला ‘ú नम: शिवाय’ मंत्र का जाप करें। पर शिव का रुद्राभिषेक करें।
• कालसर्पदोष निवारक यंत्र घर में स्थापित करके उसका नियमित पूजन करें।

2. कुलिक काल सर्पयोग

जब राहु दूसरे घर में हो और केतु अष्टम् स्थान में इस बीच सारे ग्रह स्थित हो तो कुलिक नामक कालसर्प योग बनता है।

इस भाव में राहु हमेशा जातक को दोहरे स्वभाव का बनाता है। अत्याधिक आत्मविश्वास के कारण अनेकों प्रकार की परेशानियों का सामना इन्हें करना पड़ता है। प्रियजनों का विरह झेलना पड़ता है। कई बार इस जातक को पाइल्स की शिकायत भी देखी गई है। कारण की केतु अष्टम स्थान में है। परन्तु एक बात मैंने देखी है कि केतु यहां पर मेष, वृष, मिथुन, कन्या और वृश्चिक राषि में हो तो जातक के पास धन की कमी नहीं होती। ऐसे व्यक्तियों को विरासत में बहुत धरोहर मिलती है।

उपाय

• चांदी की ठोस गोली सफेद धागे में हमेशा गले में धारण करें। केसर का तिलक लगाना भी आपके लिए शुभ होगा।
• 21 रविवार को बहते पानी में श्रद्वानुसार  लकड़ी के कच्चे कोयले बहते पानी में  प्रवाहित करें।

3  वासुकी कालसर्प योग

राहु तीसरे भाव में और केतु नवम् भाव में इस बीच सारे ग्रह स्थित हो तो वासुकी नामक कालसर्प योग बनता है

यदि तीसरे भाव में राहु और नवम् भाव में केतु तो जातक के पास धन-दौलत और वैभव की कोइ कमी नहीं रहती। �ी सुख अनुकूल रहता है साथ ही मित्र भी हमेषा सहयोग के लिए तैयार रहते हैं। परंतु अपने से छोटे भाइयों से इनका हमेषा विरोध रहता है। परन्तु पिता से अच्छी निभती है और पिता का आज्ञाकारी पुत्र भी होता है। तृतीय भाव में राहु हो तो ऐसे वयक्ति धर्म के माध्यम से धन अर्जित करते हैं और बहुत ही प्रसिद्ध होते हैं। विदेश यात्रा करते हैं, व देश विदेश में यश प्राप्त करते हैं।

उपाय

• चावल, दाल और चना बहते पानी में प्रवाह करें।
• मकान के मुख्य द्वार पर अंदर-बाहर तांबे का स्वस्तिक या गणेश जी मूर्ति टांग दें।
• प्रत्येक बुधवार को काले व� में श्रद्वानुसार  उड़द या मूंग बांधकर, राहु का मंत्र जप कर गरीब व्यक्ति को दान में दे दें  यदि दान लेने वाला कोई नहीं मिले तो बहते पानी में उस अन्न हो प्रवाहित करें। 72     बुधवार तक करने से अवश्य लाभ मिलता है।
• राहु, केतु की दशा अंतर्दशा में महामृत्युंजय मंत्र का नियमित जाप करें या करवायें।

4. शंखपाल कालसर्प योग

जब राहु चौथे स्थान में हो और केतु दशम् स्थान में इस बीच सारे ग्रह स्थित हो तो षंखपाल नामक कालसर्प योग बनता है

यदि राहु यहां उच्च का हो और शुभ राशि वाला हो तो सभी सुखों से परिपूर्ण होता है। और जातक की कुंडली में शुक्र  अनुकूल हो तो विवाह के बाद कारोबार और धन में वृद्धि होती है। साथ ही यदि चंद्रमा लग्न में हो तो आर्थिक तंगी कभी नहीं रहती। इस जातक को 48 वर्ष की आयु में बृहस्पति का उत्तम फल प्राप्त होता है। परन्तु फिर भी सफलता के लिए इन्हें विघ्नों का सामना करना पड़ता है। लेकिन केतु दषम भाव में मेष, वृष, कन्या और वृश्चिक राशि में है तो और भी उत्तम फल प्राप्त होता है एवं शत्रु चाह कर भी हानि नहीं पहुंचा सकता। चतुर्थ में राहु व दशम में केतु हो तो ऐसे व्यक्ति राजनिति में उतार चढ़ाव रहते हुए राजनिति में अच्छी सफलता पाते हैं। ऐसे व्यक्तियों को दूसरे साथियों से न चाहते हुए भी सहयोग प्राप्त होता है

उपाय

• हर रविवार हो गेहूं को पीले कपड़े में बांध कर जरुरतमंद व्यक्ति को दान दें।
• रविवार के दिन  400 ग्राम धनियां बहते पानी में प्रवाह करें।  

5 पद्म कालसर्प योग

 पंचम भाव में राहु व ग्यारहवें भाव में केतु इस बीच सारे ग्रह स्थित हो तो हो पद्म  नामक कालसर्प योग बनता है

पंचम भाव में राहु व ग्यारहवें भाव में केतु अध्यात्म की ओर प्रेरित करता है। उत्तम परिवार वाला, आर्थिक स्थिति मजबूत साथ ही उत्तम गुण एवं भोग से युक्त होता है। केतु ग्यारहवें घर में सम्पूर्ण सिद्धि व सफलता प्राप्त कराता है परन्तु इस योग में संतान पक्ष थोड़ा कमजोर रहता है। साथ ही जातक अपने भाइयों के प्रति थोड़ा कलहकारी होता है। 21 या 42 वर्ष की अवस्था में पिता को थोड़े कष्ट की सम्भावना रहती है। पंचम में राहु व एकादश में केतु हो तो ऐसे व्यक्ति सफल राजनितिक होते हैं। ऐसे व्यक्तियों को उतार चढ़ाव आते हैं परन्तु सफलता व यश अ'छा प्राप्त होता है। अधिकतर बड़े राजनितिज्ञों में यह कालसर्प योग पाया जाता है। क्योंकि यह भाव पूर्व जन्मों से सबंधित होतद्म हैं। पंचम और एकादश यह दोनों भाव ऐसे हैं राहु केतु कहीं भी बैठें हमेशा अच्छी ही सफलता मिलती है। परन्तु ऐसे व्यक्तियों को उदर (पेट) के माध्यम से शरिरिक कष्ट आता है।

उपाय

• रात को सोते समय सिरहाने पांच मूलियां रखें और सवेरे मंदिर में रख आएं। संतान सुख के लिए दहलीज के नीचे चांदी की पत्तर रखें। 
• किसी शुभ मुहूर्त में एकाक्षी नारियल अपने ऊपर से सात बार उतारकर सात बुधवार को गंगा या यमुना जी में प्रवाहित करें।
• सवा महीने जौ के दाने पक्षियों को खिलाएं।

6 महापद्यम कालसर्प योग

राहु छठे में केतु द्वादश भाव में इस बीच सारे ग्रह स्थित हो तो महापद्यम नामक  कालसर्प योग बनता है

इस योग में राहु को छठे स्थान में बहुत ही प्रशस्त अनुभव किया गया है। सम्पत्ति, वाहन, दीर्घायु, सर्वत्र विजय, साहसी, बहादुर और उगा प्रवाह का होता है। लोगों को बहुत सहयोग करता है। यहां तक की फांसी के फंदे से बचा कर लाने की क्षमता होती है।राहु छठे में और केतु द्वादश में हो तो ऐसे व्यक्ति धर्म से जुड़े होते हैं सभी प्रकार की प्रतिस्पर्धा में अच्छी सफलता पाते हैं तथा दान पुण्य और दूसरों की मदद में अपना सब कुछ लुटाने को ततपर रहते हैं। परंतु स्वयं कभी निरोग नहीं रहता। अनेको प्रकार की बिमारियों का सामना करना पड़ता है। यदि जातक को सट्टे या जुए की आदत लग जाए तो बर्बाद हो जाता है। आंखों की बिमारी से दूर रहना चाहिए

उपाय

• गणेश जी की उपासना सर्वमंगलकारी सिद्ध होगी। 
• शुक्ल पक्ष के प्रथम शनिवार से शनिवार व्रत आरंभ करना चाहिए। यह व्रत १८ बार करें। काला व धारण करके 18 या 3 राहु बीज मंत्र की माला जपें। तदन्तर एक बर्तन में जल, दुर्वा और कुश लेकर पीपल की जड़ में डालें। भोजन में मीठा चूरमा, मीठी रोटी समयानुसार रेवड़ी, भुग्गा, तिल के बने मीठे पदार्थ सेवन करें और यही दान में भी दें। रात को घी का दीपक जलाकर पीपल की जड़ के पास रख दें।
• मंगलवार एवं शनिवार को रामचरितमानस के सुंदरकाण्ड का 108 बार पाठ श्रद्धापूर्वक करें।

 7 तक्षक कालसर्प योग  ( केतु लग्न भाव मेंं )

केतु लग्न में राहु सप्तम घर में इस बीच सारे ग्रह स्थित हो तो तक्षक नामक कालसर्प योग बनता है।

इस योग में जातक बहुत ही उंगो सरकारी पदों पर काम करता है। सुखी, परिश्रमी और धनी होता है। वह अपने पिता से बहुत ही प्यार करता है और साथ ही बहुत सहयोग करता है। लक्ष्मी की कोई कमी नहीं होती है लेकिन जातक स्वयं अपने पैर पर कुल्हाड़ी मारने वाला होता है। यदि अपनी संगत अच्छे लोगों के साथ रखे तो अच्छा रहेगा। गलत संगत की वजह से परेशानी भी आ सकती है। यदि जातक अपने जीवन में एक बात करें कि अपना भला के साथ साथ दूसरो का भी भला सोचे तरो जीवन में काई परे

उपाय

• सात रविवार 11 नारियल बहते पानी में प्रवाह करें।
• नित्य प्रति हनुमान चालीसा का 11 बार पाठ करें और हर शनिवार को लाल कपड़े में आठ मु_ी भिंगोया चना व ग्यारह केले सामने रखकर हनुमान चालीसा का 108 बार पाठ करें और उन केलों को बंदरों को खिला दें और प्रत्येक मंगलवार को हनुमान जी के मंदिर में बूंदी के लड्डू का भोग लगाएं और हनुमान जी की प्रतिमा पर चमेली के तेल में घुला सिंदूर चढ़ाएं। ऐसा करने से वासुकी काल सर्प योग के समस्त दोषों की शांति हो जाती है।

 8  कर्कोटक कालसर्प योग

केतु दूसरे भाव में राहु अष्ट्म भाव में इस बीच सारे ग्रह स्थित हो तो कर्कोटक नामक कालसर्प योग बनता है

इस योग में जातक उदार मन, समाज सेवी और धनवान होता है। परंतु वाणी पर संयम कभी नहीं रहता। साथ ही परिवार वालों से कम ही पटती है। साथ ही अपने कार्यों को बदलते रहता है। शिक्षा में समस्या आती है। साथ ही जातक हमेशा निंदा का पात्र होता है।

उपाय

• चांदी का चौकोर टुकडा हमेषा अपनी जेब में रखें।
• शुभ मुहूर्त में बहते पानी में मसूर की दाल सात बार प्रवाहित करें और उसके बाद लगातार पांच मंगलवार को व्रत रखते हुए हनुमान जी की प्रतिमा में चमेली में घुला सिंदूर अर्पित करें और बूंदी के लड्डू का भोग लगाकर प्रसाद वितरित करें। अंतिम मंगलवार को सवा पांव सिंदूर सवा हाथ लाल व� और सवा किलो बताशा तथा बूंदी के लड्डू का भोग लगाकर प्रसाद बांटे।
• सवा महीने तक जौ के दाने पक्षियों को खिलाएं और प्रत्येक शनिवार को चींटियों को शक्कर मिश्रित सत्तू उनके बिलों पर डालें। 
  
  
  9 शंखचूड़ कालसर्प योग
  केतु तीसरे भाव में और राहु नवम् भाव में इस बीच सारे ग्रह स्थित हो तो शंखचूड़ नामक कालसर्प योग होता है।
  इस योग में जातक दिर्घायु, साहसी, यषस्वी और धन-धान्य से परिपूर्ण होता। दाम्पत्य सुख बहुत ही अनुकूल रहता है। सर्वत्र विजय और सम्मान पाता है। परन्तु इस जातक का चित हमेशा अस्थिर रहता है।
  उपाय:
  
  
• राहु और केतु के बीज मंत्रों का जाप करें। 
•  
• महामृत्युंजय कवच का नित्य पाठ करें इसके साथ हर रोज भगवान शिव के शिवलिंग पर बेलपत्र अर्पित करें।
• चांदी या अष्टधातु का नाग बनवाकर उसकी अंगूठी हाथ की मध्यमा उंगली में धारण करें। किसी शुभ मुहुर्त में अपने मकान के मुख्य दरवाजे पर चांदी का स्वास्तिक एवं दोनों ओर धातु से निर्मित नाग चिपका दें।

10 घातक कालसर्प योग

केतु चतुर्थ स्थान में और राहु दशम स्थान में इस बीच सारे ग्रह स्थित हो तोघाताक नामक काल सर्प योग बनता है।

इस योग में जातक परिश्रमी, धन संचयी व सुखी होता है। राजयोग का सुख भोगता है। दषम राहु राजनिती में अवश्य सफलता दिलाता है। मनोवांछित सफलताएं मिलती है। यदि शनि अनुकूल बैठा हो तो। परन्तु जातक हमेषा अपनी जन्म भूमि से दूर रहता है। माता का स्वास्थ्य प्रतिकूल रहता है। सब कुछ होने के बाद भी जातक के पास अपना सुख नहीं होता है।

उपाय:

• हर मंगलवार का व्रत करें और 108 बार हनुमान चालीसा का पाठ करें।
• नित्य प्रति हनुमान चालीसा का पाठ करें व प्रत्येक मंगलवार का व्रत रखें और हनुमान जी को चमेली के तेल में सिंदूर घुलाकर चढ़ाएं तथा बूंदी के लड्डू का भोग लगाएं।
• एक वर्ष तक गणपति अथर्वशीर्ष का नित्य पाठ करें।
• शनिवार का व्रत रखें और लहसुनियां, लोहा, तिल, सप्तधान्य, तेल, काला व�ा, सूखा नारियल, आदि का समय-समय पर दान करते रहें।
• शनिवार का व्रत करें और नित्य प्रति दषरथकृत �ोत पाठ करें। मंगलवार के दिन बंदरों को केला खिलाएं और बहते पानी में मसूर की दाल सात बार प्रवाहित करें।

 11. विषधर कालसर्प योग

 केतु पचंम में राहु ग्यारहवें में तथा इस बीच सारे ग्रह आ जाए तो तो विषधर नामक कालसर्प योग बनता है।

इस योग में जातक 24 वर्ष की अवस्था के बाद सफलता प्राप्त करता है। आर्थिक स्थिति अच्छी रहेगी। ग्यारहवें भाव में राहु हमेशा अनुकूल फल प्रदान करता है। उचित व अनुचित दोनों तरीकों से धन की प्राप्ति होती है। दाम्पत्य सुख बहुत ही अनुकूल रहता है। संतान सुख की कोई कमी नहीं रहती। परंतु प्रथम संतान को अवष्य कष्ट मिलता है।

उपाय:

• घी का दीपक जला कर दुर्गा कवच और सिद्कुंजिका स्तोत्र का पाठ करें। 
• सवा महीने देवदारु, सरसों तथा लोहवान - इन तीनों को जल में उबालकर उस जल से स्नान करें।
• प्रत्येक सोमवार को दही से भगवान शंकर पर - ‘ú हर हर महादेव’ कहते हुए अभिषेक करें। ऐसा केवल सोलह सोमवार तक करें।

 12  शेषनाग कालसर्प योग

केतु छठे और राहु बारहवें तथा इस बीच सारे ग्रह आ जाए तो शेष नाग कालसर्प योग बनता है।

इस योग में जातक हमेशा अपनी मेहनत और सूझ-बुझ से सफलता हासिल करता है। परंतु बहुत जरुरी है अपने आचरण को संयमित रखना। संतान पक्ष प्रबल होता है। दीर्घायु होता है। परन्तु ननिहाल पक्ष से हमेशा खटपट लगी रहती है।

उपाय:

• काले और सफेद तिल बहते जल में प्रवाह करें। किसी भी मंदिर में केले का दान करें।
• किसी शुभ मुहूर्त में ‘ú नम: शिवाय’ की 11 माला जाप करने के उपरांत शिवलिंग का गाय के दूध से अभिषेक करें और शिव को प्रिय बेलपत्र आदि सामग्रियां श्रद्धापूर्वक अर्पित करें। साथ ही तांबे का बना सर्प विधिवत पूजन के उपरांत शिवलिंग पर समर्पित करें।
• हनुमान चालीसा का 108 बार पाठ करें और मंगलवार के दिन हनुमान जी की प्रतिमा पर लाल व सहित सिंदूर, चमेली का तेल व बताशा चढ़ाएं।

What is Sade Saathi ?

Introduction of Sade Saathi :

In Vedic astrology, Sade Saathi has many names, like Sade Saathi, musibathi, shanichari, aafath etc. Nature is well understood by the science of astrology. There are many classes of astrology in our society. Vedic astrology, industrial astrology, personal astrology etc. are the examples of astrology. But in this astrology, the study of Rasi and the effect of planets have an important role. 5) Restrict your food to Urad pulse, grams, gram flour, black mole (Til), black salt etc.
6) To wear blue sapphire weighing 5 1/4 Ratti or more set in gold or Panchdhatu. (Panchdhatu means mixture of Gold, Silver, Copper, Iron, & Zinc)
7) You should also wear an iron ring made of horse-shoe or nail made from a boat. Wear ring in middle finger of right hand. Before wearing the ring, Keep fast on Saturday, Clean ring in holy water or Ganga’s water, light incense stick, perform pooja and recite mantra 108 times. After wearing the ring give alms. This will reduce the ill effects of Saturn giving peace and prosperity.

As per Hindu Epic Ramayana, when the bridge was constructed from Rameswaram to Lanka by Ram’s army, Hanumanji had the responsibility of looking after the security of bridge lest the enemy damage it. One day Hanumanji sat under the trees and offering prayer to God Rama. God Shanidev went there and said to Hanumanji, “I am the powerful god Shani dev. I heard you are also so powerful, so I want to test your might with me. Open your eyes and fight with me.”

In response to shanidev, Hanumanji opened his eyes & said “Now I am meditating upon my lord. I request you don’t disturb me in my prayer & leave me alone.” But God Shani dev was stable on picking a fight. At the same time, hanumanji stretched out his tail and started binding it around Shani dev. slowly he tightened the coiled tail. God Shani dev tried to free himself but he could not. Hanumanji moved his tail up & down hitting him against the stone of bridge. Shanidev started bleeding.

When the pain was unbearable, God Shani requested to him, “Release me. I will never do a similar mistake again.” Hanumanji replied, “If you promise me that you shall never afflict Ram’s devotees then I will let you go” In the great pain shanidev promised to Hanumanji, “I will do as you say, I will never interfere in the destiny of those devoted to you & Ram.”

When shanidev became free, He asked to Hanuman, “Could you give me some oil to relieve my wretched pain.” Then Hanuman gave the oil to Shanidev, after the spread of oil on his body, his pain was relieved immediately.

Since then it is customary to offer oil to Shanidev. It is symbolic of soothing his pain. He feels satisfied and this makes him benevolent towards the devotee.

Shani Shingnapur is a village which is famous for God Shani Dev and pilgrimage centre apart from its door-less secrecy. Shingnapur is located in Ahmednagar district in Maharastra (India). It is about 36 km from Ahmedanagar and 6 km from Ghodegaon which is situated on Aurangabad-Ahmedanagar highway. From Ghodegaon, there is a motorable tar road leading to the Shani dev temple. In this Land of Shani Dev, the divinity of Lord Shani is self appeared from earth in form of black but impressive stone. Here, Temple of Shani Dev is without any roof. The houses of Shingnapur & all around area don't have any doors & windows because here thieves are supposed to become blind immediately if they steal. In this Shingnapur, nobody dares to steal anything because it is believed that if they do so God Shani Dev (Local divinity), punishes them. Story of Shani Dev & Lord Shiva

Lord Shiva is the guru of God Shanidev. A short story about God Shiva and Shanidev shows us the power of Shanidev.

One morning, Shanidev went to his Guru and bowed him. Lord Shiva asked to Shanidev, “What’s a problem and what can I do for you.” Shanidev said to Lord Shiva that he thinks to passing over their moon. Lord Shiva was shocked to hearing this and said to Shanidev, “O my dear Shani, Pity on me and please don’t pass over my moon.” Shani dev said, “O my lord, I am sorry, but I can’t skip this constellation, that is my duty. If I will give you compassion, then everybody will ask me for this compassion and maybe insult me. So it is not possible, I am going to gaze you within a very short time. That is the way the things have to go on. Although I am your disciple, but for now you have asked my grace.”

Listening to this word of Shanidev, Lord Shiva understood that Shani will do those things which he said, so he asked to Shani that how long Shani will be gracing him. Shani said, “My period for saade saathi is 7.5 years, so I will grace on you till 7.5 years.” But Shiva was not agreeing for this. Again Shani said, Ok, let me reside with you only for 5 years or at least for 2.5 years. But Shiva was not ready for 2.5 years, nor 7.5 months or even 7 days. Then Shanidev thought it was too much for him as his disciple to be so cruel with him, because a Guru is like a mother - always compassionate always worthy for worship, so Shani bowed down to his feet and spoke in an humble voice, "I am very pleased with you, O my Lord, so ask for any boon you wish for." Lord Shiva said to Shanidev, "O Shani, if you are pleased with me, please bestows me this boon that you will not be entering my body at all."
Shanidev said to his Guru, “If I will spare you, no one in the world will respect me and maybe insult me, still I will give you this boon. I will stay in your moon sign for only 7.5 prahar means 22.5 hours.” Lord Shiva said, “No, I think you should stay in my moon sign for 1 and ¼ prahar means 3 hours and 45 minutes.” Lord Shiva thoughts that Shanidev would not be do anything within this short period. So, Shanidev decided that I will show to my guru that what I can do within these 3 hours and 45 minutes. Lord Shiva might be unaware of shanidev ability and capabilities.

So when the time came of Shanidev’s gaze, Lord Shiva went to Gangaa River to take bath by thinking that the time will be passed in his bath and also grace period will be over. Shanidev takes the form of melon merchant and met to his guru on his way and as his shadow fell on him, his body and mind changed. Shanidev showed him two watermelons. The watermelon was one small and one big, and also showed him that how good they were by cutting a little part of them. Lord Shiva got very happy to see those juicy melons and bought them from Shanidev who was in the form of melon seller. He put them in a bag and proceeded towards the river. After taking bath, Lord Shiva filled his water pot with Gangaa’s water, picked the watermelon bag and proceeded towards town.

Previous day of this day, that city's both King's and the Prime Minister's son went for hunting. By the grace of Shanidev, they loose their way in the forest. The king was worried about his son and he send to their soldiers in the forest for searching of the princes. One of the search party went to Guru Shiva and asked him what was in his bag? Lord Shiva answered them that there are watermelons in this bag. Again soldiers asked, “Why this blood is dripping from your bag? Are you a murderer?” To hearing this word of the soldiers, Lord Shiva was shocked and looked at the bag, he also found that really blood was dripping from his bag. In the meantime those soldiers took off the bag from Shiva’s shoulder and opened it. They found that two severed heads in it. Those heads were of those of Princes and the prime ministers son’s. By the gaze of Shanidev, the watermelon had changed into the heads of those two boys.

The soldiers bound him with ropes and took him in the front of King. The king felt very sad to see the heads of those boys as well as got very angry. The king said, “He is not a Braahman, he is a murderer. So take him and put him on a stake.” All the peoples of the palace came there to see the killer of the prince and started throwing stones on Sadhu. Lord Shiva was extremely depressed at all this. So, when soldiers wanted to put him on the stake, Lord Shiva said to soldiers, “Please wait for a few minutes only, and if I am saved, I will give you 10000 silver coins.” Lord Shiva knew that Shani’s gaze will be end soon. The soldiers were agreed for this.
After a very short time, Shanidev gaze was expired. After expiring of gaze Prince and the prime minister’s son entered the palace. Seeing them alive everybody got very happy. Immediately the king sent a messenger to the soldiers that not to put the Sadhu on stake as their children were came back safe and alive. After listening to this massage, Lord shiva was taken to the palace by soldiers. The king felt very sad and also asked to Shiva for his forgiveness. Lord Shiva said, “O king, don’t worry, you are innocent. Whatever is happened with me and you, it’s all Shani’s illusion. After the discussion of king and Shiva, the king wanted to see the bag of lord Shiva and he found two watermelons in the bag. He arranged for the fragrant bath for Sadhu and seated on an Aasan and worshipped him and fed him delicious food. The king gave him new clothes and filled his bag with silver coins.

Lord Shiva left the palace. On the way God Shiva met the executioner, Shiva gave him all the coins. After that Shanidev met to Lord Shiva. Shanidev asked, “What is the experience of my gaze?” Lord Shiva said, “O shani, you are great, only 3 hours and 45 minutes gaze shattered my bones, what would be happened if you had stayed with me for 7 and ½ years? Taday I am agree that you are most terrible planet. I can bear all this things but today you promised me that you will not trouble anyone else like this in future.” Shanidev said, “O my lord, I am sorry for that, but I just wanted to show you my power. Now please pardon this child of yours, and I promised that I shall never offend you in this way again." After saying this word and bowing down to lord Shiva, Shanidev went back to his Shanilok.

After this story, it is concluded that Shanidev is the powerful god and good judge.

Story of Shani Dev & Vikramaditya

The name "King Vikramaditya" has been assumed by many kings in Indian history. Vikramaditya was the king of Ujjaini. He was famous for his wisdom, valour and magnanimity. Due to his great power he had became “emperor”. Madenlekha (Queen of Ujjaini) was the wife of Vikramaditya. He had two children Adityavardhan & Manjili.

The seven god of the week are the Sun (Surya dev), Moon, Mars, Jupiter, Mercury, Venus and Saturn (Shani dev). Once upon a time, the seven god of the week, were in meeting. Rahu and Ketu are also there. Rahu & Ketu put one question in front of them. The question was “who is the powerful god among us?” They could not decide on this matter. So, they went to Devraj Indra for his adjudication. God Devraj Indra thought if he gave decision in favour of any one god then other will be unsatisfied with me. He told them that respected gods, I am also like you so, how can I decide that who is great & I can’t give an impartial judgment. So, better thing for all of you go to the planet earth. There is King Vikramaditya. He is very good justice on all over the earth. Hearing this entire thing at last all God went to King Vikramaditya.

When all gods came to King Vikramaditya then king gave big respect to them and begged for any king of service. They told him about their problem. It was very difficult task for Vikramaditya. But he was dutiful king so, he accepted this challenge gracefully. After thinking on this, He arranged seven thrones. These thrones were made from Gold, Bronze, Brass, Tin, Zinc, Mica, & iron respectively. The thrones were put by numbers. The Gold throne was put at number one & the iron throne was at the last. Then King Vikramaditya requested to seven gods for grace the throne of their own selection. God Surya (Sun) was in the gold chair while God Shani selected the iron chair.

When the seven gods had sat in the chair of their own selection, Vikramaditya said, “Now according to the order of your throne you may decide your own rank & none can thrust my judgment upon you.” Hearing to this, God Shani (Saturn) stood up & said to King Vikramaditya, “You ranked me the lowest among these gods. You don’t know my power. Sun can stay on a Zodiac (Rashi) for One to Two months, Marsh for half and one month, Jupiter for maximum thirteen months, Mercury and Venus for one month only. Rahu & Ketu for eighteen months. But only me who can reign a Zodiac from two and half years to seven and half years. This period is called as “sade sathi”. Due to this sade saathi period powerful god also trembled. When I was angry on Rama then he got banishment instead of throne. Now be prepared because it’s your turn.” Saying all this God shani went back.

After a very short time, the “Sade Sathi” period was occupies by Shanidev on Zodiac of Vikramaditya. From here, king’s sade sathi period began which was for seven & half year. Shani dev went to Vikramaditya’s kingdom as a horse-seller & he had very attractive horses. People were also praise of those horses. When King Vikramaditya heard about the strange horses, he sent to Ashawapal to buy a best horse for him & when Ashawapal came with one attractive horse, then king was so pleased to see the horse that he could not stop himself for riding on this horse. But, when he was riding on horse, the horse disappeared in the air with a great speed. After a few second king was in deep and thick forest. He had very tired. Due to out of his kingdom, King Vikramaditya faced many problems. These entire problems were created by God Shani dev.

At the palace of Ujjaini, Queen Madenlekha was worried about King Vikramaditya. Queen Madenlekha was the devotee of Shani Dev. So, she requested to Shani dev to save her husband. Due to the Prayer of Queen Madenlekha, Shanidev promised that I will save your husband but he has to endure for his work (Karma).

King Vikramaditya was out of from his kingdom so, no body was introducing him. At last Vikramaditya reached a nearby city and in the city he met a respectable businessman. This businessman also not introduced Vikramaditya. King was looking like a beggar. With the sympathy, the businessmen took him to his home and arranged food for him. On that day businessman earned more profit due to the grace of Shani dev. But, he thought that this man (King) is lucky for him. Thinking this he kept him to his house for work.

The king was enduring his Sade Sathi period. He was living in the Businessman’s home by changed name. After some days, there was a marriage of Businessman’s daughter. In this marriage Vikramaditya was the responsible person. He went to the market with businessmen’s another daughter for purchasing of Marriage’s material. In the market, Vikramaditya met to shanidev who was in disguise. Shanidev gave a picture of duck to Vikramaditya.

The marriage arrangement was going on properly. Suddenly, the marriage’s necklace of bride had lost. The necklace was swallowed by the duck which was in picture. Businessmen’s wife asked to king about necklace but King could not explain anything to her. She thought that king is thief and she arrested him by the soldier of king Chandrasen.

King Chandrasen was the enemy of King Vikramaditya. Looked to Vikramaditya, King Chandrasen was very happy. He ordered to their soldiers that King Vikramaditya’s hands and feet be cut with one stroke of a sward. Listening to this order Vikramaditya cried out. But, Soldiers cuts the hand & feet of him.

Now, The King was without hand and feet. He was dallying like Beggar. An “Oil seed Crusher (Teli)” was looking him and he felt pity on him. He took him to his house and arranged food for him. He also dressed the king’s wounds and after some days, Teli made him capable of driving the bullocks around the grinding machine. Now, Vikramaditya can do his work properly. Like this time passed on. The Sade Sathi period was about to be over.

One night, the king was alone in his work. He was singing song. The voice was sweet. His voice was breaking the silence of the night. In the nearest kingdom, one princess heard the song & she got fascinated towards the singer (Vikramaditya). Princess called to her personal attendant and sent him to know about the singer. After some time, the attendant came back and he told to princess that the singer was servant of “Teli” and he is handicapped. Listening to this thing, Princess decided that she would marry with that singer otherwise she would remain unmarried throughout her life. When princess parents heard about this decision they resented on princess. But, ultimately they were ready for that decision.

The King (father of princess) went to the Teli with the proposal of Marriage. The king said to Teli, “Arrange for the marriage of this handicapped person, my daughter wants to marry with this man.” Teli did not believe on king but at the final teli became ready for marriage.

Marriage of Princess and handicapped Vikramaditya was over. But princess parents were not happy. At the mid-night of honeymoon King Vikramaditya had a small nap. God Shani dev visited to the King’s dream and said, “King Vikramaditya, you ranked me the lowest among the gods. All this happened with you this is effect of my sight. You have undergone enough sufferings for your misjudgment. But now your Sade Sathi period has over.” Hearing this news king became happy and he requested to Shani dev “Do not inflict such suffering in future on anyone like me. The God accepted the king’s request and disappeared.

After the disappeared of shanidev when King Vikramaditya opened his eyes, he became surprise to see that his hands and feet in proper shape. The princess & her family member were also so much happy to see this. But when they knew about the reality of handicapped person that he is King Vikramaditya, king (princess father) was overwhelmed with joy and praised his stars.

This news reached immediately in all area & nearest area. The businessman also got this news and felt guilty to his behavior with Vikramaditya. He went to Vikramaditya & requested him, “Excuse me for my wrong behavior with you.” And he also invited him for dinner. King Vikramaditya accepted his request & next day he went to businessman’s house for dinner. In the house of businessman, King Vikramaditya said, “I shall dine in the same room where the necklace had lost.” Without asking any question, the businessman arranged the dinner in that room. When the Vikramaditya were dining, he saw to his great surprise that the invaluable necklace was emerging from the same duck which was in picture. This Imaging thing was seen by all the people who were present in that house. The businessman was so much overwhelmed with joy and he too decided to marry off his daughter to Vikramaditya.

After some days, King Vikramaditya returned to his Kingdom. Queen Madenlekha became so much happy to see Vikramaditya has returned to his kingdom. On the next day in the court, The King Vikramaditya said to his courtiers to make a proclamation by the beat of drum that God Shani is also powerful like other God and so, they should keep fast on Saturday as a mark of honor of God Shani dev. After that in the kingdom of King Vikramaditya, there was arrangement of worship of Shani dev at every Saturday. Now, Vikramaditya & his two queens were live happily.

Story of Shani Dev & Hanuman ji

God Hanuman is the incarnation of Lord Shiva. He is a great devotee of Lord Rama. He helped to Rama in the war with Ravan. Mace (Gada in Hindi) is the weapon of this God. The other name of Hanumanji is Mahaveer, Pavan Suta, Bajarangbali, Kesharinandan etc. Here, is the story of God shanidev & Hanumanji.

As per Hindu Epic Ramayana, When Hanuman went to the Lanka in search of Sita mata (Wife of Lord Rama). After meeting with Sita mata, when Hanumanji was coming back, he met with many God who were in clutch of Rakshash (Evil) King Ravan. God Shanidev was also there. Hanumanji helped freeing shanidev and getting out of Lanka.
Because of Hanumanji helped Shanidev they both became friends. Here, Shanidev Promised to Hanuman that anyone who prayed to him (Hanuman), he would be rescued from the baleful effects of Shanidev.

Other story of Shanidev and Hanumanji:
God Surya Dev is the Father of Shanidev. Surya dev is also the Guru (Teacher) of Hanumanji. After the completion of course, Surya dev said to Hanuman, “You have become adept in all forms of wisdom and weapons, now go to your mother Anjani” But Hanumanji requested to Surya dev “Give me an opportunity to repay for your tutelage” Suryadev said to Hanuman, “my wayward son shani is the cause of my sorrow only, Go and bring that wayward son of mine back to me”. Listening to the order of Surya dev, Hanuman went to Shanilok. When he was going to shanilok many planets tried to stop him but they were unable.
When Shanidev saw hanuman he asked to him, “Who are you? Why are you come here? Do you not fear with die?” Hanumanji replied, “I am Hanuman, The disciple of Lord Surya. Lord Shani you have all power & virtues, but your greatest drawback is disobeying your father. It’s not good & it’s the greatest sin. I have come here to take you to your father.” Hearing all this Shani became angry & said, “You don’t know my power, Powerful god also trembled with my power so better thing for you go back immediately otherwise I will burn you” Hanuman replied, “I have not came here to go back”. Then Shani Dev crooked gaze on Hanuman but shanidev could not burn him so, Shanidev sat on his head. They were inside a room. Immediately Hanuman increased his size because of which shani pressed between hanuman and the ceiling. When the pain was unbearable, Shani requested to God Hanuman to release him. When shanidev became free from Hanuman then shanidev Promised to Hanuman, “Anyone who will worship you on Saturday, I will never be terminate them.” After that shanidev & hanumanji went to Suryadev. Shanidev became happy to see them.

Story of Shani Dev & God Krishna

“Kokilavan Dham” is the famous temple of Shanidev. This temple is situated at Kosi Kalan, near Mathura in Uttar Pradesh (India). It is believed that Kokilavan Dham is the place where Lord Shri Krishna gave darshan to Shani Dev. This temple is visited by many devotees on Saturday. There is an interesting story about Shani Dev and God Krishna.

When God Krishna was born all god visited to Nandgaon. God Shani was also one of them. Everyone was allowed to take Darshan of God Krishna but not Shanidev. When Shani dev was going to take Darshan of Krishna then Yashoda stopped him at the door and said,” You can’t see my baby because your name is fearful. If my baby sees you, he will be frightened.”

Hearing this Word of Yashoda, Shani Dev felt disappointed and went to nearby forest and started penance. After a short time God Krishna appeared before him in the forest and asked him, “What is the problem. Why you are in forest?” Shani dev replied, “O God! Please tell me one thing, when I am doing my duty to punish people according to their work (Karma). Then why people think about me that I am malignant and cruel. Why people think that Shani dev creates trouble only. Why do they avoid even my shadow? Today also when all god could enjoy the bliss of your Darshan, I am denied that right and benediction."

God Krishna advised Shanidev to stay put near Nandanvan. He also granted him the boon that whoever came to his temple to pray would immediately be freed from all worries and afflictions.
At last, God Krishna visited the temple and began playing the divine flute. Hearing the sound of flute, the Gopis arrived but Krishna turned himself in the form of a Cuckoo (Koyal in Hindi). 

 

That place of the forest where Krishna appeared before Shanidev, has since been called “Kokilavan”. Now it is famous for “Kokilavan Shanidham”

Saturday Fast Story

In our Hindu society, it is believed that many problems which we faced in our general life are caused due to the displeasure of Shanidev. A short story given below demonstrates the need to keep Sahnidev propitiated.

There was a small village. In this village, lived a poor Brahmin with his family. He had three daughters-in-law. During the rainy season, Brahmin used to get up early in morning, have his Breakfast and leave for the farm. As a routine, he had given the house-hold responsibilities to the youngest daughter-in-law. It was Shravan (5th month as per hindu calendar) month. On the first Saturday of the month, Brahmin told to his youngest daughter-in-law that today is Saturday, go upstairs, take some food grains and grind them to prepare the roties and kenakurdu vegetables. She followed the instructions. She went to upstairs but she found that there were not an enough grains to prepared roti. She prepared the food whatever the grains and waited for her father-in-law.

After a very short time, God Shanidev appeared in front of the lady in the form of a leper and requested to the lady that his entire body is aching, so please apply oil and bathe him with hot water and thereafter give him some food to eat. The lady had sympathy for him. She applied oil and bathed him with hot water, after that she gave him the food and thus quenched his hunger and thirst. When leper was going, he blessed her that she will never fell short of anything in the life. After some time, the father-in-law came home and saw an excellent preparation of food and happily wondered as to how this happened when there was very little in the home.

On the next Saturday, the Brahmin told the second daughter-in-law to be at home and left for the farm. As like first time, again shanidev appeared in the guise of a leper and requested to the second daughter-in-law to bathe and to serve the some food, but this young lady told him that there was nothing in the house to offer him. Shanidev became angry with her answer and cursed her and said, “Whatever you have would vanish”. Saying this word shanidev left home. The lady went up and found that there was nothing in the pots. The father-in-law came back home and she informed him that there is nothing for the supper. They scolded her. Then she narrated the whole story of leper.

On the third Saturday, the Brahmin said to the third daughter-in-law to manage the home and preparation of food. As usual, again shanidev appeared in disguise and requested the young lady to serve, but the lady followed the suit of the second one with a negative approach. The result was the same as second daughter-in-law. The lady was very sad for the incident. Again on the fourth Saturday, the Brahmin had given responsibility of house to the youngest daughter-in-law and left for the field. As usual God shani dev again came in the guise of a leper and requested to serve. The lady heartily bathed him and gave the food to his satisfaction. Shani dev became happy and blessed her that all her desires would be fulfilled and she will remain happy in her whole life. After blessing to her, Shanidev has vanished. After that the lady went up again and found ample food grains etc. She cooked a sumptuous supper for the whole family. The Brahmin families were happy to have the food and asked her that from where she got all the grocery. The lady told them all the story of the leper. Listening to story, they were quite happy.

As suddenly the Brahmin found a bundle of Patravali (A leaf in which the food was served). He opened the bundle and got diamonds and pearls in it. He enquired of other daughter-in-law about the leper, they informed that the leper had come to them twice but they did not give him anything. The leper got angry and after that everything vanished from house. The Brahmin advised them to keep fast on Saturday and helped to needy people. He also offered prayers to Shanidev and asked blessing for all his family.

Mantra of Shani Dev

Maha Mantra of God Shani Dev :
“ Om Nilaanjana Samaabhasam, Ravi Putram Yamagrajam.
Cahaya Martanda Samhubhutam, Tama Namami Shanescharam”
The meaning of mantra:I bow to God Shanidev, who is black in colour and son of Sun and born to Chhaya and brother of Yama dev, who moves very slowly.
This Maha Mantra is effective for those people who have the Saturn/Shani cycle or Sade sathi in their horoscope. This mantra is cure for sade sati. The person who has Sade Saathi should recite Shani Mantra 23000 times within sade saathi period.
